The short version
- RecMate records your screen and optional audio only when you start a recording and grant permission.
- Every recording is saved locally on your device — never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- We collect no personal information, use no analytics or tracking, and show no ads.
- RecMate doesn't need an account and doesn't use the internet to record.
1 Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. RecMate does not gather your name, email address, location, contacts, device identifiers, or usage analytics. We have no servers that receive your data, and we have no access to your recordings.
The only content the app produces is the screen recordings you choose to create, which are stored locally on your device (see Section 3).
2 Permissions and why they're used
RecMate requests the following permissions strictly to provide its recording features. Each is used only on your device and only for the stated purpose:
- Screen capture (MediaProjection): Required to record your screen. Recording only begins after you tap Record and confirm Android's screen-capture dialog. This consent is requested for every session.
- Microphone: Used only if you choose to include microphone audio. You can turn this off in Settings.
- Internal / playback audio: Used only if you choose to record the audio playing from your device. It is captured on-device as part of the recording and never transmitted.
- Foreground service: Required by Android to keep a recording running reliably in the background and to show the ongoing recording notification.
- Notifications: Used to display the recording notification with Stop and Pause controls and the timer.
You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in your device's system settings.
3 How your recordings are stored
Your recordings are saved to app storage on your device. You stay in full control:
- You can play, rename, or delete any recording inside the app at any time.
- You can save a copy to your gallery / Movies folder. Once there, it's a normal video on your device.
- You can share a recording with another app. When you share, the file is passed to the app you select, and that app's own privacy policy then governs how it handles the file.
Because recordings are stored locally, you are responsible for managing these files. Deleting a recording in RecMate (or uninstalling the app) removes the app's copy; copies you exported or shared elsewhere are not affected.
4 Data sharing and third parties
We don't share any data, because we don't collect any. RecMate includes no third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or social-media SDKs. No information about you or your recordings is sent to Netcle Technologies or any third party by the app.
5 Children's privacy
RecMate is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, none is collected from children either.
6 Your privacy rights
Because RecMate does not collect or process any personal data, there is no personal information for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. You retain complete control of your recordings directly on your device and can delete them at any time within the app.
Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR or CCPA apply, please note that we act as neither a collector nor a processor of your personal data through this app.
7 Security
Your recordings are kept in your device's application storage. We recommend keeping your device secured — for example, with a screen lock — since the security of locally stored files depends on your device.
8 Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features or legal requirements. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
